The National Museum of History in Taiwan is proud to present its first international touring exhibition in collaboration with the Nakamura Keith Haring Collection. This marks the first opportunity for the museum’s collection of 133 works—including drawings, prints, sculptures, and photographs—to be showcased overseas.
Keith Haring, a trailblazing artist of the 1980s, created a vast and powerful body of work before his untimely death at the age of 31. His art continues to inspire dreams, visions of the future, and even reflections on madness, embodying the resilience and vitality of life.
The exhibition explores the trajectory of Haring’s multifaceted career through the concept of “Multiplexism.” Works on display include the Subway Drawings that catapulted him to fame in the early 1980s, a complete set of 17 Blueprint Drawings that Haring described as a “time capsule,” the large-scale print series Retrospect, and the suite of 20 works created for children, Story of Red + Blue.
The National Museum of History, established in 1955, has long been a key hub for Taiwan’s cultural and artistic activities. Within the museum’s expansive special exhibition gallery, visitors can fully experience Keith Haring’s distinctive worldview.
