This exhibition welcomes Danish artist Lene Degett, who is based on the nature-rich island of Bornholm, Denmark, to create and showcase land art inspired by the natural environment of Yatsugatake. The program includes a public art production, workshop, and related exhibition.
The theme of her project, HOUSES, encompasses a variety of meanings, such as dwelling, home, shelter, nest, or hiding place. Through this work, viewers are invited to reflect on their personal spaces and humanity’s coexistence with society and nature. This is a rare opportunity to witness the artist’s creative process live, set against the stunning backdrop of Yatsugatake’s landscape.

Date: Sunday, May 18, 2014
A workshop for children will be held during the exhibition, led by Danish artist and art educator Lene Degett. Inspired by how insects, birds, and other small creatures gather natural materials like branches and leaves to build their nests, participants will create their own unique and exciting HOUSES (homes or hideouts) using materials from the forest. This program is designed to foster children’s creativity and their connection to nature.
